2018 Holiday Greetings
“The streets are very dirty,
Me shoes are very thin,
I have a little pocket
To put a penny in;
If you haven’t got a penny
A ha’penny will do,
If you haven’t got a ha’penny
Then God bless you.”

Dear Friends, Clients & Subscribers:
As the Christmas and the New Year approach, we are deeply grateful for your support throughout 2018. As this remarkable year draws to a close, the time has come to celebrate. The holidays have arrived – merriment, family, friends and feasting are in order!
To celebrate, we are adding a video on the history of the candy cane to a classic from the Solari Food Series: A Culinary History of Christmas.
At your request, Catherine has published Ask Catherine: Christmas Gift Ideas Watch our website every Friday for our top picks for Christmas music throughout the season. And if you are a subscriber, make sure to take advantage of our Give the Gift and check out our Christmas Wrap Up Gift Package.
This Christmas we pray for a healthy, happy home for every man, woman and child. Having a safe place to call home brings peace on earth. Our gifts this Christmas reflect our desire for homes for those who most need them.
For our 2018 Christmas donations we are pleased to honor 25 families in California who are struggling to find affordable housing in the San Francisco Bay Area. Thanks to the efforts of colleagues in the area, we will contribute cash gifts to them before Christmas Day.
Our second donation goes to the Veterans Community Project in Kansas City, Missouri.
“When US Army combat veteran Chris Stout returned from Afghanistan to Kansas City, Missouri, he struggled with an injury and PTSD. He was frustrated by the gaps and inefficiencies he saw. He also saw homeless veterans living on the street because they felt traditional homeless shelters were unsafe or lacked privacy.
In 2015, he and a few buddies quit their jobs and started the Veterans Community Project, which built a village of tiny homes for homeless vets. The group also connects vets to life-changing services. The first 13 tiny homes opened in January, and 13 more will be finished this November. The group’s outreach center assists residents as well as any local veteran with access to bus passes, housing placement, job placement, legal services, a food pantry, a clothing closet and emergency financial assistance. So far, the group has helped more than 8,000 veterans.”
Wherever you are, whatever you do, consider this Christmas and in 2019 helping someone who is hungry or homeless. Every action counts and every bit helps. When we take an action with whatever we can do, it invites the greatest power on Earth to join with us.
On behalf of the entire team at the Solari Report, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous and Happy New Year!
