Jakes, “Faith, Hope and Charity” Paul says about hope, “If we have no hope, we are of all men most miserable.” The writer of Hebrews de- clares that God has entered into a covenant with us that we might have hope, which is an anchor for the soul. He later says to the Romans, “We are saved by hope. For a man seeth, why doth he that hope for it, then why did he have hope for it?” Hope is something you cannot see. It’s intangible, but it embraces your future. It is a conviction that you still have the potential and the possibilities to survive. If you lose that, you are of all men most miserable. Giving you money is not giving you hope. Giving you attention is not giving you hope. Giving you what you’re whining for is not giving you hope. 28
