Meyers describes how the spirit of offense grew in the last days with more and more people giving and taking offense. When I first heard it, I decided to listen to it re- peatedly until I could stop giving or taking offense. I listened to that sermon over 20 times until the cassette player in my car chewed up the tape. Otherwise, I would still be listening to it. Every- where I turn, the spirit of offense is rising. Peace begins with me – in my heart and my mind. There is no more beautiful presence than the peace of the Lord. Help me to nurture that peace throughout this day. Let it surround me, and those I love. “Let there be peace in the world, and let it begin with me.” 10
